The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church
The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Page, Arizona, leads its congregation in espousing Christian principles and developing its parish and its community. Founded in 1958 and led by Father Thomas Maikowski, the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church meets daily to guide its parishioners through both the seven sacraments created by Jesus Christ and the established duties of Catholics.
Immaculate Heart of Mary Church advises its congregation to embrace six duties of Catholicism. These include worshipping God every Sunday and on holy days, particularly the day of the Lord’s resurrection; leading a sacramental life and receiving Reconciliation and Holy Communion frequently, especially during the first Sunday of Lent and Trinity Sunday; observing the church’s marriage laws and bestowing religious training on one’s children; strengthening and supporting Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the worldwide church; doing penance and abstaining from meat on appointed days; and lastly, joining in the spirit of the church’s mission.
In addition to encouraging participation in Catholic duties, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church holds Christ’s seven sacraments in high regard. Churchgoers can participate in sacraments as outward signs of God’s grace in life, marking special occasions such as baptism, matrimony, and anointing of the sick, among others.
